Seattle Looking Even Greener for 2014!

Happy New Year Seattle!

Solar PV is booming as our region’s passion for a sustainable, green-powered future continues to grow.

In 2013 Puget Sound Solar installed 849 kilowatts of solar PV – an increase of 53% over 2012! With three megawatts of installations under our belt, projections for 2014 are still on an upward curve.

2013’s growth included exciting commercial projects at Harley Marine on Harbor Island,  Sage Arts Studio in Arlington, and the new Ballard Greenfire Campus.

But the individual home owner – tackling climate change and our nation’s energy policy at the grass-roots level – remains a key component of our region’s clean energy future.

Last year, our work on the Solarize Washington projects for northwest and southwest Seattle helped our city’s homeowners go green. This year we’re projecting even more businesses and homeowners will follow in their footsteps.

We’re projecting a solar 2014 so bright that our region will need shades!

About The Author - Jeremy Smithson

Started Puget Sound Solar in 2001 with 30 years of construction contracting experience, and a desire to turn Seattle on to solar energy. Achieving NABCEP certification in 2004, Jeremy believes that our customers often follow a path similar to the one he took, starting out with solar daydreaming, then progressing to education on the subject, and eventually leading to action. In addition to leading the company he also does some teaching and speaking engagements about various aspects of solar energy, and experiments relentlessly with various solar, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle projects.
