The Washington State and local sales taxes are once again waived for renewable energy systems that produce electricity, including solar.  Also, the sales tax waiver for solar hot water systems has been restored.

This is big news, because the tax waiver for solar electric systems was set to expire on June 30.  At the very end of the 2nd special session, a compromise set of tax incentives was agreed upon by the Senate and the House, and was signed into law by Gov. Inslee just in time!

This incentive is now expiring on June 30, 2018, giving 5 more years of savings to customers who purchase these systems in Washington.
