Hey, it’s April: That means it’s Earth (Month, Week, Day, Whatever)

That’s right, every day is Earth Day at Puget Sound Solar, but it’s hard to feel like that when it is dark, and 45 degrees, and raining in December, so we’re OK with corralling all the good vibes and unleashing them when the sun is making some serious headway.  April and May are the months that produce the highest spikes in energy production from PV systems in the Seattle area, and that goes for solar consciousness, too, so let the festivities commence.  April 22, 2015 is, after all, the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day.

To see what area architects are up to you may want to attend the AIA 2015 Earth Day Sustainability Slam , April 22nd at 1400 Western Ave., Seattle 98111 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  This event is brought to you by the AIA Committee On The Environment.

Or you might want to celebrate Earth Week at Latona Pub, where a series of beers are served that were transported to the pub without the use of motorized conveyance.

Not to be missed is the Northwest Green Home Tour, April 25th & 26th.  This is your chance to see all the things we have done at our 107-year-old net-zero-energy PSS headquarters, 5308 Baker Ave NW, 98107, along with many other fine examples of homes that are good for the planet.

If you are looking for ways to make your business greener, there is Go Green 15 on April 30th, a conference put on by King County to help you lighten your footprint.

About The Author - Jeremy Smithson

Started Puget Sound Solar in 2001 with 30 years of construction contracting experience, and a desire to turn Seattle on to solar energy. Achieving NABCEP certification in 2004, Jeremy believes that our customers often follow a path similar to the one he took, starting out with solar daydreaming, then progressing to education on the subject, and eventually leading to action. In addition to leading the company he also does some teaching and speaking engagements about various aspects of solar energy, and experiments relentlessly with various solar, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle projects.
