Puget Sound Solar installation-dynamo David Locke and his hardworking crew this week upgraded a Capitol Hill customer’s PV system with made in Washington goods. Our team’s go-to spirit made short work of this job.

The original 2008 installation now employs 12 Itek Energy 240 watt solar panels, and home grown Washington micro-inverters.  The local technology is augmented by a dual axis Wattsun Tracker from Array Technologies, which helps the panels follow the sun for maximum efficiency.

Upgrading to high-quality Washington products not only drives our state’s economy, but improves the customer’s production credit to 54 cents per kilowatt hour. Solar panels manufactured out of state garner a production credit of 15 cents per kilowatt hour.

Started Puget Sound Solar in 2001 with 30 years of construction contracting experience, and a desire to turn Seattle on to solar energy. Achieving NABCEP certification in 2004, Jeremy believes that our customers often follow a path similar to the one he took, starting out with solar daydreaming, then progressing to education on the subject, and eventually leading to action. In addition to leading the company he also does some teaching and speaking engagements about various aspects of solar energy, and experiments relentlessly with various solar, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle projects.
