Transparency in our solar quotes and solar sales process
Puget Sound Solar installed the first permitted solar photovoltaic system in Seattle in 2001, and throughout our history, we've taken pride in being transparent with our solar quotes and solar sales process. That's how we've earned the trust of our customers over decades. We view the sales process as a collaboration, so we listen to you so we can help you meet the goals of your project. We want to build a long-time, trusting relationship with our customers.
Each customer's journey is different and we know most people aren't super familiar with all the different aspects of solar. We can answer all your questions about solar - the financial and environmental benefits, how the technology works, ... so you know you're making a good decision before you sign a contract.
We don't use gimmicks or pressured sales approach. Because we've been around two decades, we've watched other companies come and go but we're in this for the long haul. We've even trained most of our competitors in the area.
When you first contact us, we gather some information from you such as the motivation for your project. We'll ask you to share your contact information and the location where the solar will be installed. We also ask you to share a copy of your electrical bill and if you're planning on making any significant changes to the house or lifestyle that will impact your energy consumption, (heating systems, remodels, adding a hot tub, buying an electric car, etc...), so we can tailor a system that fits your needs. We also like to know the approximate age of the house and roof as those systems sometimes need to be addressed before a solar project can proceed.
We then begin the process of modeling up some solar options for your home or business. (If you're building a new home, send us your blueprints and we'll create a design even before the house is built.) Once our designers complete the modeling, they share it with your salesperson who will meet with you to go through the proposal, answer your questions and make any needed revisions to the the design. We view this as a collaborative process and we encourage our customers to be engaged and ask questions. Again, we're in this for the long haul with you, that's why we have an industry leading 25-year Workmanship Warranty.
As part of our effort to demonstrate transparency, we're sharing a sample proposal, so you can see the kind of information you'll receive when you sign up for a free solar quote. There is a link at the bottom of this webpage where you can access all the pages in the quote in a single .pdf file.
On the preceding page, you'll see the first overview of what solar can do for your home. It compares the cost of no action versus going solar and how the impact of solar is magnified if you also drive an electric vehicle.
On this page of our free solar quotes, we show you a basic layout of the system so you can understand where the panels will be installed. We identify roof vents, chimneys and other objects on or near to the roof that could be problematic and design a customized system that takes these variables into consideration.
On this page of Puget Sound Solar's solar quote, we show you a couple of system options. In this case, two different PV systems, both with 18 panels, one using Silfab solar modules and the second using LG solar modules. You'll notice the LG system is more expensive but it also produces more output even though the physical size of the system is the same as Silfab. We provide you with options so you can decide what works best for your goals and budget. If you prefer other solar equipment, just let us know and we can change things up with the design.
