The White House Goes Solar!

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue added a photovoltaic solar system to its roof this year. The made-in-America PV system is intended to serve as a symbol of President Obama’s commitment to clean energy.

Load and security concerns make going 100% solar at the White House impossible. As a result, the system was scaled to the average size of PV systems on American homes today.

But it’s not just the White House that’s going solar.

Earlier today, President Obama announcedthat more than 300 organizations in the public and private sector have made commitments to advance the deployment of solar power and invest in energy efficiency.

If the President’s house can go solar, so can yours!
