You might think that catastrophic flooding was only going on in Texas and Louisiana this year, but you would be wrong.  You wouldn’t know it if you are watching news channels in the U.S., but while Houston has been flooding, India, Nepal, and Bangladesh have also been reeling from huge floods.  So far, in 2017 there have been no less than 110 devastating floods around the world.  In 2016 there were a record 19 major floods in the U.S.  This is a growing and dangerous trend.

As we continue to add CO2 to the atmosphere the temperature rises.  Every 1 deg. C of increased temperature adds 7% more water vapor to the atmosphere.  This gives storms much more energy and precipitation.  Rain ‘bombs’, softball-sized hail, and violent storms are beginning to be regular news items, and weather systems linger due to ‘stuck’ jet stream patterns caused by sharply higher arctic temperatures.

What can you and I do about it?  Plenty!  Parents can start by having one less child (not very popular, but enormously effective).  We all can reduce our transportation pollution by ditching our gas-burning cars for EVs, bicycles, or walking.  Producing clean electricity from solar is also possible for many of us, and especially effective if your utility is Puget Sound Energy.

My point is that it is past time to do something about pollution that causes climate chaos, but it is not too late to prevent the earth from becoming uninhabitable for humans and other animals.  Please do your part.  We are here to help you with the solutions that we offer:  Solar energy systems and electric vehicle charging stations.  Give us a call.
